Boulder Valley has some amazing opportunities to get involved with local food. We have listed a few below, please reach out if there are opportunities not listed!

Boulder Food Rescue

is a non-profit organization whose goal is to create a more just and less wasteful food system. They facilitate the sustainable redistribution of healthy food to agencies who serve homeless and low-income individuals while educating each other about food justice.

Community Food Share

works to prevent food insecurity of families and students in poverty by exchanging food from local farmers and grocery stores free of charge. You can also get active and help distribute!

Uproot Colorado

works to measurably reduce food loss in Colorado through gleaning, experiential education, on-farm research and nonpartisan legislation

Growing Gardens

Growing Garden's mission is to enrich the lives of our community through sustainable urban agriculture. Growing Gardens envisions people experiencing a direct and deep connection with plants, the land and each other. Through its many gardening-based programs, Growing Gardens strives to reach gardeners and would-be gardeners of all ages to work alongside the organization and build community through urban agriculture.

Community Fruit Rescue

harvests public and private fruit trees in the area, shares the fruit with the harvesters, the homeowner (when applicable), and local food banks to celebrate the bounty of our urban forest!

Emergency Family Assistance Association

EFFA helps those in our community whose immediate needs for food, shelter and other basic necessities cannot be adequately met by other means, and supports their efforts toward financial stability or self-sufficiency.

Edible Landscapes Coalition

aims to crease an edible oasis that provides a natural sense of place in which community members can grow together and strengthen their bonds.
